A campaign titled ‘Greener Pakistan movement’ was commenced by SYNCH on 10th June 2018. The campaign involved

  • Plantation activity
  • Social media campaign

Two competitions for the participants were announced as well. The competitions were:

  • Article Writing (led by Anam Rafique Central Vice President)
  • Photography (led by Noor ul Huda Central Head of Media Dpt.)

A poster by Central Cabinet was displayed on various social media platforms by all the members of the organization and nearly 500 people were involved in the drive. Later on, each unit continued the social media campaign by displaying posters that were exclusive to them.

The general public was also deeply impressed and took an active part along with our members. Various ornamental and fruit plants were planted in Colleges/Universities premises, public places, railways stations, mosques and by roadsides. Plantation guidelines regarding what to plant and where to plant were mentioned in our posts.

Overall, we planted 1370+ plants with a total cost of Rs68500/-.

Continuing this activity, we have planted trees in collaboration with Rescue 1122 at a Government school in Rawalpindi. Also, Medical Students from various Institutes especially Sahiwal Medical College have planted round about 200 new plants.

RESULTS

The best impact unit was Sheikh Zayed Medical College, Rahim Yar Khan.

Winner for the article writing competition was Asad Ullah Shah from CMH Lahore.

The winner of the photography competition was Ayesha Fatima from SZMC, RYK.

The best performer award went to Muhammad Kashif Razzaq from SZMC, RYK.

Shields and certificates were given to participants and winners.
